Holy Wow!
I’m not even done watching and I’m just amazed that you can “re-edit” stuff back in Camera Raw!
While I like the new show design, I’m very happy that the Photoshop Guys have brought their personalities back!

First off, i want to say how much i love the show, and how much it has helped me learn new tricks and advance my craft. That said, im a bit mixed on the new format/style.
Things i don’t like about the new format:
1. It has more of a corporate feel than the old way you guys did each show(i iked the goofy stuff, it separated it from all the other drab shows that you could fall asleep watching)
2. The background of the set is a bit too distracting.
3. Its shorter! if your going to change the format to fit more, keep it the same amount of time so we get more content, not just the same amount of content in less time.
4. You guys i think are focusing too much on cramming stuff into the show and making the tutorial delivery a bit too hasty. Sure we can re-watch the stuff we missed parts of during the first viewing, but that makes it a bit of a pain in the arse.
Otherwise, i love the show still, and even with the things listed above, i would never stop watching. Keep up the good work scott

Right on! If I wanted straight-laced podcast, I’d be watching PixelPerfect or Layers more often but the poutine jokes and Kelby’s little horses is what draws me to PhotoshopUser TV.
But in the end the new show looks sharp and streamlined, just a little something I’m not used to getting from the Photoshop Guys.

I must say that I really preferred the old set and the old style. I do not like the “jazzy” slap dash hiphop approach. Please slow it down. Get rid of all the dumb objects and the divided spaces for each of you. We always knew that you were cool, you don’t need the superficial effects.

TIP:
I had the same problem with color spaces. I shoot in AdobeRGB and even process in that space. But I’m exporting photos for web differently. You can use the method Scott used, but’ I go down to File -> Save for Web & Devices and there I tick convert to sRGB and just save it. The thing is that it isn’t so complicated and your image will be also saved. When you use the previous method, you can create the action for changing space but then you still have to save the photo.

yeah you can use save for web but for some funny reason that strips the metadata from the file :(
I use the action route so that gets my vote :)

I don’t care about the metadata, because I always write it down somewhere next to the shot. ;) Of course, both ways are possible.

Hmmm…I recently went from a PC to a Mac, MacBook Pro to be precise. I wonder why I never made the move before, I just love the look/feel of Apple products, the design, functionality, etc… It looks like you just did the reverse with your set. It seems a tad like a PC guy designed the place trying to “be like Apple” possibly the same way Microsoft is trying to copy the Apple store look. The whole industrial, warehouse look doesn’t work, it should be less distracting. It almost looks like the inside of the “Test Track” ride at Epcot. You guys also seemed a little uncomfortable, like you were not happy with it, maybe just me. You guys have always had a way of bringing us awesome information and have helped me in so many ways, and I know you will figure it out…..you guys Rock!

Incredible production values for a web-only show. Frankly amazing. Great info, good team interaction. I wouldn’t change a thing. Besides, no matter what you do, someone will complain. So do what you think is best. It’s a free show (that fact too is amazing) and I for one see nothing to complain about! I learned lots! Thanks!

Sweet! You’ve found a wonderful balance of interaction and instruction. Just a tiny bit more tweaking and it will be perfect. Maybe 5 quick tips in 90 seconds? I enjoyed the subtle things; the sign and the sound effects on the door change, the picture on the Epson printer box moving, or Scotts’ head slowly leaning into frame while Dave is talking (okay maybe that’s not so subtle). Oh yeah, I learned some stuff too! Thanks a bunch, nice job!

Scott, Put a magnet on your timer and it will slow it down, therefore you won’t have to rush to get the show done so fast. As always great show but by all the comments you just need to make it longer (say…10 tips in 3 min.,etc). It seems we are all diging at the same thing here, we want more!

After looking at the comments here I went back and timed the amount of content in one of your old shows and the amount in this show and it was pretty darn close to the same. With the exception of your tips in 10 seconds segment where you speak quickly, everything seemed to be at the same pace (except there’s not 5 minutes of you guys just talking to each other).
I think it comes down to the fact that people don’t like change. If you guys went back to the old set next week with a 40 minute show, you’d have a bunch of comments from people saying “Hey, I loved the new set and format! Why’d you go back!”.
Keep it as it is. In the long run I bet you’ll find you pick up more viewers because of the concise, but still entertaining, new format.

Enzo, The last couple of months were the transition period and the shows were short. I have been watching the shows now for about 2.5 years and they are usually 29-33 min. long. The new show is about 25-30% shorter than those. I have been so used to the longer ones that they just “seem” rushed (and a lot of folks do). We all love Scott and the guys and thier show, but I feel like they can’t clown as much and that may be the 10 min. we’re missing. Everything about the new show is better with new stuff. I especially liked the sRGB conversion for web and e-mail (didn’t know that one). I think everyone just loves the “horsing” around.

Miss all the banter when you were all there doing it at the same time. I’m not sure how many people really watch it for the tips. We all have your books and can look up anything we want to know instantly. We watch because we enjoy three buddies hanging together and getting goofy! Bring back the Love!

I enjoy all these shows. They are really informative. The only constructive thing I would suggest is in regard to the audio. For some reason the audio isn’t set correctly in different portions of the studio. Maybe the mic is not in the right position or something. For some reason is sounds like Scott is in a can during his quick tips segment.

Now that I have watched the show I realize that everyone is wearing lapel mics. So, I guess Scott’s wasn’t working during the taping of this episode. I think that is the audio issue I noticed.

Episode 2 of the new format is Just Right! I appreciated the shorter duration of episode 1 because everyone is busy, but the old format was a fun 30 plus minutes that I always looked forward to. Fast paced and full of knowledge and humor fits the bill.

I think the shorter length is great. It lets me watch the whole episode without also watching the clock.
If there are some things that I want to see again (and there usually are), then I just go and watch them again.

Love it! It’s got an almost perfect blend of content vs. time, with a dash of personality.
I personally think that watching Matt or whoever do a tutorial sitting in a chair with the laptop on their lap top (get it?!, nyuk nyuk) looks a tad strange and uncomfortable for the viewer, but it’s not that big a deal.
Comment for the Scriv: I noticed that the Left and Right audio channels were reversed for the majority of the episode. Scott was on the right at one point, but his voice was coming from the left, and Matt was talking to Scott from the viewer left but his voice was on the right.
Also, the PSUTV logo swooshes from left to right at one point, but the sound swooshes from right to left. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that someone is paying attention! :D

Seeing as how last week was Thanksgiving, and the splendonderfuliforous people we work for let us have some time off for the things that are more important, we were definitely under pressure to get the show put together and still get it out on time.
There are a lot of times when I notice some mistakes on our part that I just have to let go simply because we’ve got so many projects going on. Also, we’re still waiting on our new audio equipment (was originally shipped wrong stuff and had to return it… DOH!!)
Anyway, just thought I’d address you on this topic because of your tactful approach :)

Have you considered making PhotoshopUser TV, Lightroom Killer Tips, Layers TV etc. avaliable as a Channel on a Roku device ? I know there are ways of watching you guys on my 46″ HDTV but a simple click on a PhotoshopUser Channel direct from the Roku box would be great. Just a thought. (plus I need another excuse to buy a new toy)

First off, know that I never write anyone feedback on anything–I’m too old and lazy to do that. I’m breaking my rule because I have to tell you that I LOVE your show, old or new, but I especially love the new. I love the increased content and the snappy pace. Keep up the sterling work, guys! And please know that, unlike the person who said he doesn’t watch you guys to learn things because he has your books–I have most of your books, and love watching the show because I learn something new every week!!

Hi folks,
Each of these thoughts carries an implicit “IMHO”:
1) I’m pleased with the new shorter format for PSUTV. I always thought the show could use trimming; I find 18-20 minute episodes easier to digest. For a podcast aimed at busy creatives and photographers, I think you’ve found the sweet spot.
2) It’s a little thing, but I appreciate the quick summary that leads off new episodes. It’s a good bet at least one tutorial topic will strike my interest, and I feel immediately primed to learn some new tricks.
3) I like the principle of more content in less time, but “10 Tips in 10 Seconds” (even if it’s intended as a joke) takes things too far. Even if it’s executed flawlessly, this segment could get old fast. I’d prefer to see the return of “Things to Do” and/or “One for the Road” in its place.
4) The new set is growing on me. Separate workstations for tutorials makes sense, and it looks like there are nice spaces for interviews. However, the previous set was warmer, brighter and more inviting. I’m not sold on industrial-chic. On balance I’d say the new set is an improvement, so I guess function trumps form for me.
Nitpicking aside, PSUTV is THE indispensable podcast among my subscriptions. This show alone justified my purchase of an iPod (though I occasionally listen to music on it too). Short of replacing Matt, Dave, and Scott with the cast of The View, no amount of retooling will turn me away.

It’s great having the PS Guys back and like you said about the first episode, it was too fast. I think all of you are trying to go to fast with your tips and not just you with the 5 tips in 10 seconds. I’m sure you will get it figured. I really like the intro with what each of you will cover, the set is fine with me and I do like each of you showing your tips at a different location. The second show was better than the first one in that it looked like you were having more fun; don’t lose that part of the show.

I’m new to the show (I think I’ve seen one or two in the past), which means I really can’t compare. So, for me, I thought it was great.
It moved quickly, yes, but I just use the pause button and re-watch, if needed.
I’m looking forward to seeing all the new episodes!

Saw the first one and I still like the fast pace and the reduced time. It’s obvious that the 5 tips in 10-minutes segment needs some work. I think, depending on the tips, you’ll always be behind the 8-ball in hitting that time limit. Unless of course you change your time scale to “Geological Time”. Just kidding.

You guys rock the house! Love the show, love the tips, love the humor. That being said, I sadly have to agree with most everyone else. We miss the old show. Maybe we’re just stuck, or not used to change after 200 episodes, but I used to laugh out loud while watching Photoshop User TV. My wife would always be like, “What are you laughing at!?”. Well sadly, the only part I laughed at in this show was when you showed the clip saying “This is why we’ve changed…” Well I think we all LOVED that part of the old show, the really dumb, drawn out humor, but that was original, unscripted and full of true personality. I feel like last week, there was NO personality, and after all the comments, you tried to spice it up a little bit, but this week felt like everything was too scripted, too forced, and way to planned, even the try-to-be funny parts. You guys seriously rock the house, there’s no other show like you, but the new format has lessened the gap between you and hundreds of other podcasts in a negative way. You guys are the best, because your funny and original, and just plain HUMAN. Don’t force it, be yourself! It felt awkward. But I love the show, and I’ll never stop watching. The tips are perfect. Keep it coming!
Oh and I agree as well with the comment about more content. Because we’d love more content, but not necessarily more content in shorter time. I loved the 30 minute episodes. The newer shorter ones have the same amount of content in 18 minutes, so that just means you cut out the other 12 minutes of fun and being goofy, and seriously 50% or more of why many of us would watch the show.

My first thought from the first show was that the desk you three guys sit at is too small! You look really cramped up. Is that why in the second show you tended to be apart more?
Anyway, still enjoy it and I do prefer less of the goofyness, though it still needs some, so the balance is probably pretty close to being right!
