A Very Different Interview For Me

My buddy Terry White has been running a very fun series on his blog called “Tech Profiles” where he does this really short burst of questions, mostly related to how you use technology, and he asked me to do one, and it’s up live at this link.

At the end, he asks, “Anything else?” so I wrote five things most people wouldn’t know about me, and those five have a sparked a number of comments on Terry’s blog, including this one:

“Kelby seems less god-like now. Thanks, Terry!”

Yikes! Anyway, if you want to read all the gory details, it’s right here. Thanks from me too, Terry, for giving me yet another platform to look silly to large groups of people. ;-)

  1. 1. I guess if you need a God, Scott’s not a bad one to have.
    2. Isn’t it weird how abstinence from drugs, tobacco etc, while highly laudable, somehow lacks the ‘rock and roll’ cred of the former junkie?
    3. I get up early too.

  2. Hi Scott,

You say you have a 27” iMac in the interview. Could you maybe do a quick post on how you like the glossy display on that one? Can you hardware calibrate it? Is it suitable to work on your photos? I know you sold your glossy macbook pro. I have an older iMac and quite like the display, but I’m sceptic about the new glossy stuff.

    Thanks in advance,

    Michael.

  3. “Kelby seems less god-like now. Thanks, Terry!”

Let’s hope this isn’t a dyslexic fan of yours, Scott. I’ve never thought of you as “dog-like.” Down boy! Down!

Truth be known, I’ve thought of you as a Photoshop and photography guru, a virtual mentor, an amazing businessman, and a seemingly all-round decent and funny guy, but god-like? Besides, my wife keeps reminding me that God is a woman. :-)

    Amen.

    Trev J.

    P.S. Happy travels, Scott!

  4. Now just don’t start comparing Scott to the Greek Gods! Strutting around in a toga or a loin cloth!

Sorry too early in the mornig for such thoughts!

  5. Hey Scott,
This was, indeed, a very revealing story about you. The fifth of five at the end gave me a whole new respect for you. On one hand I wish I could say the same, on the other, I wouldn’t be who I am without those experiences. I’m just glad that I’m a pillar of society now.
Spring break is right around the corner for me. I will get a chance to put some of your “Recipes” into action over the break. The book/DVD you signed for me in Dallas totally ROCKS!
Thanks Scott for all you do
    Mike

  6. Scott, If I send you a black shirt with my restaurant logo on it, will you wear it? I put one up on my blog so you can see it (remeber I have your guitar hanging in my office). I’m joking around but it was cool to read your day to day life. I smoked in college but didn’t inhale (clean for 20 years now).
