When I was in The Netherlands last week, I can’t tell you how people I ran into that watch on one of our podcasts, but one guy I met told me although he sees me each week on Photoshop User TV, he said he doesn’t watch me on D-Town TV (the weekly show for DSLR users) because he’s a Canon shooter.
I let him know that D-Town TV isn’t just a Nikon-only this season, and that we not only include Canon gear, but we’ve changed the focus of the show from one that covers which button does what, to more of a general show about digital photography, and how to “get the shot.” I told him we that now we have lots of location shoots, and guest photographers, along with some inspiration in each show, and he told he didn’t realize that the show had changed, and that he’d check it out again (and I’m hoping you will, too).
I haven’t been talking about D-Town TV that much lately, and last night Matt asked me if I had seen the last couple of episodes. I had to admit that I hadn’t yet (the key word there is “yet”), so this morning I got a chance watch the last three episodes, and I’ve included a brief summary and direct links to the episodes below. For Canon shooter…huh..didn’t know that…Guess I got some back videos to watch from this season.
I have a lot of people ask me for advice on camera equipment and how to shoot. The first thing I tell them is join NAPP, watch anything with the name Kelby in it and by all means go back and watch all episodes of Dtowntv.

All the older episodes are only 10-15 min. long. I set one night and watched all of them.

Change the name from D-Town to something generic. Digital Shootout? Shooterville? Digital Theater? World of SLR? Obviously I don’t know what the title should be. Digital Shooter? (still trying)

You guys should at least give the folks at B&H a heads up when you are going to review a specific product to let them get a few extra. Going to have to wait a while my Mamiya rubber lens hoods mentioned in episode #32. GREAT SERIES! thanks for all the info!
Just a heads up on that lens hood – they come in other mm sizes, so you can get them for other lenses as well. But we haven’t used any others and therefore don’t know if they vignette or not.

As a Nikon shooter, I really liked the format of the first season and was a little leery of what had changed this season. But, change is good and this was a good change! The shotmaking tips have been very helpful. Viewing Matt’s “5 uses for a reflector” last week was probably my best use of 5 minutes in a long, long time. Keep up the great work!

Photographers wear black and shoot with black cameras so that they won’t stand out. TV production is the complete oppsite premise! OOh I forgot – it’s FREE.
I absolutely love the DTownTV videos! I’ve learn so many great tips that can make a good shot into a great shot. The last episode had some really nice tips on macros; some of which I would have never thought of trying. Keep them coming and thanks for making them FREE; can’t get much better than!

O one note, I shot with a Canon and always have but I’ve watched every episode of DTown and I’ve learned a lot, even from season one (aka The Nikon Series).
