Why You Should Bring Your Camera To PSW Orlando
First off, MAKE SURE you bring your camera to Photoshop World next month! Westcott will once again be setting up their “shooting stations” which feature models in various setups lit with Westcott Spiderlites.
It was a huge hit in Vegas, and I’m sure they’ll take it up a notch in Orlando. The LA Times even did a write-up about them in Vegas!

My suggestion to any one who is going to 1st PSW is check frequently on the Westcott booth, they change models and you will miss some if your not careful (like me in Vegas).

Will Catwoman be there? Or maybe Batgirl? I’ve been in love (infatuated) with the women of Batman since I use to run home from school everyday to watch the old TV show reruns.
And don’t blame me for getting sidetracked, your the one who posted Catwoman at the top of the page. :)
They had Catwoman last year, I doubt they’re gonna repeat themes like that. My guess would be they’re gonna have a whole new collection of fun themes and models.
Brad: Thanks for the links in this post. As I will be going to my first PSW in a few weeks, this info is very handy.
I know Dave Cross has some tips on attending PSW on his blog, but maybe Scott could put together some of his thoughts/tips for first time attendees and what they can expect? It would certainly help me for when I get ready! And I don’t mean the obvious ones like “where comfortable shoes”, or “bring your camera”, or “bring expensive trinkets for the instructors”. :D

There’s a first time attendee orientation on 3/29 at 3:15 and 5:15 hosted by Larry Becker…this session is very helpful – best of all it’s FREE!
That was soooo much fun, last year! I’ve got all sorts of great shots from that, definitely worth bringing your camera!
Bring some fast glass, too. I rented a Nikon 85m f/1.4G lens for PSW to use at this booth. All those other photographers seem to suck up the light.
I got a chance to see the notes from Lesa Snider’s Photoshop for Beginners class last year. I was blown away, this is an amazing class. Lots of information, easy to understand. I wish this class had been available in my early days with Photoshop.
I’ve taken the HDR precon, and loved it. Matt and RC changed the way I looked at HDR.
And there’s nothing more fun than Alan Hess and Scott Diussa teaching concert photography.
I went to WPPI this week, and Westcott did this same event for their new Spiderlite TD6 model. Unfortunately, the space allowed for both the models and photographers was very, very tight. The event at PSW in Las Vegas pictured above had much more room (that’s me, the balding guy in the orange shirt) for creative sets and for shooters. I hope the show floor at PSW both in Orlando and Vegas will have the same space as at last year’s PSW. For me it was the highlight of the entire Expo.
