Hey everyone, Brad Moore here with a couple of quick updates on the contest and social aspects of the Worldwide Photo Walk. A lot of people have asked about submitting photos to the contest and sharing them online. If you just want the deadline dates, you can see the full schedule here. If you want a bit more info on how everything is happening, here's the rundown of how we're doing everything this year... Walker Photo Contest Each walker will be able to submit their one best photo taken during the Photo Walk to the contest. After your walk on October 13, you'll go to the Photo Walk website and log in, then go to your Walk Page. There you'll see where you can upload your image to the contest. We recommend the photos be no larger than 1MB in size. You'll have until…

This is where you can share lots of your photos and experiences from the Photo Walk. It is not where you submit photos to the contest. Just want to make that clear distinction... Contest  =  WorldwidePhotoWalk.com Social  =  Google+ If you're new to Google+, watch the video from RC Concepcion above. Below are a couple more videos from RC that he put together showing just how you can use Google+ to your advantage for the Worldwide Photo Walk. http://youtu.be/PxbJhyDZBys http://youtu.be/rkJBZy0YYNQ

Hey Kelby Crew!! Thanks for tuning in to this video post that we put together for you! This clip is all about the business side of photography and is an excerpt taken from our business DVD that we recently put out called "Harvest, The 3 Step To Growing a Thriving Photography Business." While it is extremely important to work on your craft and be great at the technical side of photography, we can't, as small business owners, neglect the management and entrepreneurial side of things. Michael Gerber, writer of the E-Myth, says that we need to have all three of these areas (the technical side of shooting pics, the management side and the entrepreneurial side) all functioning together if we want our businesses to truly succeed. We hope that you enjoy this excerpt and don't forget to focus running a great business! http://vimeo.com/48036149 You can see Zach & Jody's…

We’re just four days away, and it’s not too late for any photographers you know to join their local city walks as part of my Worldwide Photo Walk this Saturday. So….I was hoping you might help me spread the word, so as many people as possible have to opportunity to participate in walks. If you could put the word out on your Facebook pages, Twitter, Google+, your blogs, photo club bulletin boards, and anywhere else you think it might help. You can even grab some graphics to use right here. Could you send them to main Photo Walk page at WorldwidePhotoWalk.com? Many thanks in advance, and we’ll see you this Saturday! :)

We’re just five days away, and right now we have nearly 28,000 photographers signed-up for 1,300 local walks around the world this Saturday, Oct 13th. We are thrilled at the worldwide participation and sense of community this has created, and I can’t wait for the local walk I'm leading on Saturday in Paris, France to get here (and to see the images from around the world). If you haven’t signed up for a Walk Yet…. It’s not too late. Here’s the link—find a city near you, and sign up to be a part of your local walk. Seven Tips for Walkers Last year, I gave seven tips for walkers to help you make the most of your walk, and I’ve got those here for you again. If you’re going to be walking with us this weekend, take a moment to give these  a quick read: I promise it’ll make…

It's issue #11, and the cover story is from the wonderful Nicole Young and its all about shooting food with strobes to create the natural light look. Above: Here's this issue's TOC (page wise, I think it's our biggest one yet).  Above: Here's a glimpse at one of the two-page spreads in Nicole's article on shooting food (look at the progress of the shadow from hard, well defined to soft on the bottom right.  Above: Here's a look at part of my Lighting Recipe column, which appears in each issue. This time we're at a boxing/fitness gym doing a promo shoot using on-location flash.  Hey, where's the Android version? I thought you guys were working on it? We are. Well, technically the company that writes the App software for our magazine is working on it, but it's not ready yet. I know a lot of…
