Here's an iPhone pic of my buddy Corey Barker, who is currently vying for the title of "happiest guy in the world" because he got his first copy, of his first book, "Photoshop Down & Dirty Tricks for Designers." Corey had been such a big help to me when I did my own"Photoshop Down & Dirty Tricks" book a couple of years back, that I talked him into doing his own version of the book, and as much as I hate to admit it, his came out even better than mine. I think Corey is, hands down, one of the most gifted Photoshop artists/trainers out there, and he teaches stuff in this new book that you just don't see anywhere else. I don't know how he comes up with this stuff, but man does he ever! I'll run a video clip he did about…
I've been saying all year that Matt Kloskowski's book, "Photoshop Compositing Secrets" (link) is the best Photoshop book of the year, but Amazon.com's Editor's thought it was even better than that, naming it one of their Best Books of 2011 for the entire Arts & Photography category (link). How cool is that!!! Congrats to Matt for truly hitting one out of the park (and for also being one of their picks in their Top-10 Kindle Books for 2011, too!). Matt, we are all so proud of you!!! What an amazing year you are having and it couldn't happen to a more genuine, hard-working, and fun guy who does all of this for all the right reasons. Congrats!!!
Hey gang, Brad here with a quick update. We just found out that for TODAY ONLY, you can get Scott's bestselling The Digital Photography Book Vol. 1 for just $3.50 from the Barnes & Noble Nook store!
If you're at Photoshop World in Vegas, the book is being officially launched by Peachpit Press there and we have a limited number for sale at the official bookstore on the Expo floor. It's hitting other bookstores next week (Amazon.com already has the Kindle version available now), and you can preorder the print version from Amazon.com, or Barnes & Noble.com, or pick it up at your local bookstore in just a few days.
Hi gang: Unfortunately, the video about my new book is not quite finished yet (sorry about that), so we're scheduling it for this coming Tuesday (Remember: Monday is our special Guest Blog with Joe McNally). Once again, sorry for the delay, thanks for understanding, and I hope you'll stop back again on Tuesday morning for the full scoop on my soon to be released Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It book, which makes it debut at Photoshop World in Las Vegas this coming week, and will be in bookstores just a few days later.
It's gonna be fun. It's gonna be live. You'll learn some cool compositing techniques and you can ask Matt questions live that he'll struggle with. Stuff like "What's the capital of Nebraska?" or"Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?" and stuff like that. Hope to you can join us at 4:00 pm EDT today (It's free). Here's the link .
