It's called "Expose Yourself With Scott Kelby" (I didn't name it. I would have named it "Get nudie-nude naked and naughty with DJ Scott-Scotty K and the fully clothed nudists" but they voted it down). Anyway, if you are picked as the winner, you win a Sony RX-100 Camera, so if you can get past the whole thing of having nothing on, this is awesome. The contest is for photographers who want to share what they've learned with other photographer through a blog post, article, photo submission, etc. on InMyBag.net ----(in their words: "InMyBag.net is now a fully fledged photography magazine. In addition to featuring awesome photographers and their kit, we put a strong emphasis on including additional value – it could be a tip, a mini tutorial or general advice. Essentially, we’re asking photographers to SHOW & TELL). "  Anyway, this month the folks at…

http://youtu.be/DXj8ToCxmiY I thought'd I'd better tell this story myself before it takes on a life of its own, so on this past Wednesday's episode of "The Grid" I went ahead and spilled the beans. I have already taken quite a bit of ribbing about it (including emails from friends poking fun, people calling, and even images sent my way), but I feel the only way to deal with this is to just put it out there, take my lumps, and try to move on. So, here's a short excerpt from The Grid (above) where I explain what is probably my most embarrassing photography story ever (and those of you that follow me here know that's going to take some doin'). I didn't tell RC what the story was in advance, so his reaction is real, and priceless — just the look on his face…

Above: That's me. Not the print. That's me holding the print. You know what I mean.  So many times I get Facebook or Twitter or G+ comments, even emails, that start off by saying, "To the person who comments for Scott" or "To whomever answers Scott's emails" or "To the intern that responds to comments on Scott's blog" and stuff along those lines, so I thought I'd do a quick Q&A to let you know when it's me and when it's not me. Here goes: Q. If I post a comment on your Facebook page, and I see a response from you, who is it that is actually writing that response? A. Me.   Q. So who answers for you on Twitter and Google+, then? A. Ummmm… that's Me.   Q. What about here on the blog? A. Me. Still, me.    Q. Is it ever anyone else? A. Nope.…

DISCLAIMER: This story has nothing to do with photography, or Photoshop or Lightroom or anything like that. It's just about my birthday, which was awesome because I have an awesome wifey, which is what the story is about. Just so you know.  It actually started Saturday night… So, the wifey and I are sitting around the kitchen table Saturday evening when I see an email come in with those words from Delta I long to hear…"Your upgrade is now confirmed."  I assumed it was for a business trip I have coming up to New York in the next week or so, but then I look at the dates and it says Sunday, July 6th. I'm  looking at it,  and I say out loud to Kalebra, "Could I have accidentally booked a meeting on my birthday?" She doesn't answer but when I look over at…

Hi Gang: July 4th is a big holiday for us here in the US — it's Independence Day — a day where all Americans celebrate their independence from Glyn Dewis and Dave Clayton (shown pictured with me above. This shot was taken during the Third Global Biennial Conference on International Bakery Treats held at a random Pret a Manger in the heart of London). If you're thinking of shooting some fireworks shots tonight, I wrote an article for ColaCola's Journey website where I take you through the recipe for how to make Awesome Fireworks photos (It's a step-by-step article — follow the recipe and ya can't miss). Here's the link. I would add three things to that article for the serious photography crowd here on my blog. They are: >> Set your focus to infinity (This isn't critical but if your lens can do it, why…

I am on my way to beautiful Nashville, Tennessee for my SOLD OUT seminar there tomorrow (Whoo Hoo!!!). Very excited to meet everybody (and thanks for the wonderful turn-out Nashville). I'm getting in to town early and not surprisingly Nashville has a lot of music stores, so I'll be hitting a bunch of them this afternoon. If you're a local and know of a music store I shouldn't miss, please leave me a comment below so I make sure I stop by there. I'm especially on the lookout for cool used guitars or vintage guitars (and of course my search continues for a distressed Fender Strat with a British Union Jack flag painted on it (like this one here -- I've contacted them about getting that exact one --- so far, no reply at all. Not looking good). Anyway, I know finding one in Nashville…
