On the heels of Apple’s announcement Friday that they’ve discontinued both Aperture and iPhoto (they will be replaced by the new “Photos” App in the next version of the Mac OS, to be released next year), we want to help you make the transition to Lightroom.

To that end, we’re hosting a FREE Webinar tonight where we’ll show you, step-by-step, how to the make the transition from Aperture (or iPhoto) to Lightroom easy, painless, fast and fun. Everyone’s invited (even if you’re not making the switch and just want to win some cool prizes â” and we’ve got plenty!).

Who: Matt Kloskowski & Me (with RC helping out, too!)
What: Free “Make the move from Aperture to Lightroom” Webinar
When: 7:00 pm tonight (New York Time). That’s Midnight in Swingin’ London. Here’s a link to a world time clock converter so you can join us in your time zone.
Why: Because Apple discontinued both Aperture and iPhoto, and you’re so going to love Lightroom (and because training people on Lightroom is our “thing”).

Prizes Galore!
You know we like to add to the fun, so we’ve got some amazing giveaways tonight (everything from Wacom tablets to B&H Photo Gift Cards and all sorts of cool stuff). It’s gonna be a fun night, so I hope you can make it.

We’ll be taking your questions LIVE on the air
We always want to hear what you’re struggling with or any questions you have, and tonight we’ll be taking your questions live.

To sign up for tonight’s free Webinar, just go to this link; and once you register we’ll send you the link to the broadcast about an hour before air time.

NOTE: If you know any photographer’s using Aperture or iPhoto, would you mind passing this on â” I think it’ll be a big help to them.

Looking forward to see you all tonight at 7pm!

P.S. If you can’t make the live broadcast, we’ll be rebroadcasting the class soon (and of course it will be available on KelbyOne for subscribers).

We really had a wonderful time last night at my “Prague to Budapest” Travel Photography Webinar (hosted by RC, who was awesome!).

Photographers from all over the world had tuned in and we had lots of great questions, plus we had our partners jumping in left and right offering prizes for us to giveaway during the event (the free replay is posted above).

Here’s what we wound up giving away live last night during Webinar:

  • 2 Wacom Intuos Pro Medium Size Tablets
  • 2 $150 B&H Photo Gift Cards
  • 5 copies each of these books (courtesy of our friends at Peachpit Press): My “Photoshop for Lightroom Users” book; my “Lightroom 5 for Digital Photographers” book; RC’s “The HDR Book” and 5 copies of my “Photoshop for Digital Photographers” Book
  • The Complete Nik Collection of Photoshop/Lightroom plug-ins from Google
  • A Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens
  • A Canon Pixma Pro-1 Printer (this alone sells for $999)

Of course, we had to pay the bills, so we also had deals on KelbyOne and a bundle of Photoshop World Vegas with a 1-year KelbyOne membership. Besides all the prizes, we really had a lot of fun throughout (and lots of laughs) and the response from the thousands of comments, and flood of tweets, was just fantastic. I posted the entire Webinar above, and I hope you get a chance to watch soon.

Thanks to everybody who watched the live feed last night, and to all our partners who were so generous with their giveaways. Here’s wishing you a fantastic weekend and we’ll see you back here on Monday.

A lot of people are surprised when they find out how much Lightroom Training there is at the Photoshop World Conference (which kicks off in just 24 days in Atlanta). It’s a straight-up three-day Lightroom love-fest (so much so, that you can come to Photoshop World, and take nothing but Lightroom classes each dayâ”all dayâ”and never take a Photoshop or photography class at all.

We even have an optional full-day Lightroom Crash Course pre-conference workshop (taught by Matt Kloskowski himself), the day before the conference starts (so, it would be on April 7th, and the regular 3-day conference starts on April 8th).

Here’s who teaching our Lightroom sessions at Photoshop World in Atlanta:

  • Matt Kloskowski
  • Zack Arias
  • Julieanne Kost
  • Eddie Tapp
  • Jeremy Cowart
  • Terry White
  • Frank Doorfof
  • Brian Hughes
  • Erik Valind
  • RC Concepcion
  • and Me

Take a look at the details of these daily Lightroom sessions, (click right here, and look each day at the dedicated Lightroom track).

By the way, you can save $100 off the price of a full conference pass (which includes access to all these conference sessions) if you sign up by MONDAY the 17th  just three from now), which brings the price of the full conference pass down to just $595 (plus, it’s even less if you’re a KelbyOne member, or you’ve been to Photoshop World before, because you get special discounts on top of that).

Any questions about any of this, talk to a real live, really helpful person (yay!) by calling toll-free 1-800-201-7323

Hope I’ll see you in won of my classes in Atlanta later this month. :-)

Gotta run — I’ve got four location portrait shoots today for a project I’m doing for, and I’m still editing the images from a studio car shoot I did in Phoenix after my seminar there on Wednesday (here’s a behind-the-scenes shot from my iPhone — I got to shoot this new 2014 Corvette Stingray and a really cool Shelby Cobra. Can’t wait to share the shots as soon as they’re done).

Also, I should have some really fun news for KelbyOne subscribers on Monday or Tuesday (it will make a lot of folks happy). Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we’ll see you back here next week.
