    B&Hprtner

We are excited, honored, and just basically thrilled to announce our new partnership with B&H Photo. We've been friends and partners for many years but today you can actually purchase Kelby Media Group products directly from B&H Photo (see the email newsletter from B&H below). I get all my gear from B&H (just got my D4 from them on Friday. Whoo Hooo!), and I'm totally psyched to be growing our partnership with such an awesome team. Here's a link to their site (ya know, just in case). :)

Brad Moore here with a quick bit of news... HP just announced their new HP Z Workstation line featuring 8-core Intel Xeon processors, up to 512GB of DDR3 memory, and support for multithreaded workstation applications! You can get all the details in the press release, and check out the entire Z-Series lineup (they recommend the Z420 for photographers).

    Zuma Picture of the Day

Hey gang, Brad Moore here with some really exciting news... I'm sitting at my desk yesterday, and across the hall I see Scott get up from his desk, laptop in hand, and HUGE smile on his face, to dance out his door and call out, "Gather round everyone, for I have great news!!" As he slowly and dramatically turns the laptop around (still grinning ear to ear), we all see his photo of Ryan Malone from the Tampa Bay Lightning featured on the ZUMA Press Pictures of the Day website! At that very moment, a flock of doves flew through the air, trumpets sounded, and a bunch of other exciting stuff happened :) Okay, that last part may have only been in my mind, but it was definitely a moment of celebration and excitement for us as we congratulated Scott on not only getting some…

    cliff

A big congratulations to our buddy Cliff Mautner who was chosen as the 2012 Nikon Wedding and Portrait Photographers International photographer of the year, and was presented with the award last week at the WPPI Conference in Las Vegas. Anyone who has seen Cliff's amazing images, or learned from Cliff live or online (people literally rave about his Kelby Training Online classes) knows what a talented, passionate photographer and educator he is, and we couldn't be prouder that he was chosen to receive this prestigious award. Our hearty congrats to Cliff and a big high-five from his family here at Kelby Media Group.

    applehome2006

Wednesday night I read a terrific post over on Google+ by Guy Kawasaki with his tips for speaking in public (link). It was a really insightful article, and in it he links to an article in the UK's The Guardian about how Steve Jobs used to prepare for his keynote speeches. The article was written in January of 2006, and this one paragraph really put things into perspective for how far Apple has come in just a few short years. The writer, Mike Evangelist, wrote: "Objectively, Apple Computer is a mid-sized company with a tiny share of its primary market. Apple Macintoshes are only rarely seen in corporate environments, and most software companies don't even offer Apple-compatible versions of their products. To put it another way, Apple is just bit larger than Cadbury-Schweppes and about the same size as Nike or Marks and Spencer in terms of annual…
