Here's a quick update on what's going on with me and the crew here: Killer Deal on Hotel Rooms for Photoshop World Vegas The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, right on the Vegas strip, has been the home for Photoshop World since we first brought the convention to Las Vegas years ago (and it's connected directly to the convention center), but this year we were able to negotiate our best deal on hotel rooms, so you can stay right on property (at the same place, me and all the instructors and NAPP staff will be staying) for only $129 a night. Plus, this year they're throwing in the "Resort Package" free (reg. $60), which includes everything from free in-room wireless Internet to free bottled water, and a whole bunch more. Here's the link to snag your rooms now at this special rate, cause once…

With the Photoshop World Conference in Vegas coming up in September, I thought it would be fun to run this video clip I found on YouTube.com, shot and edited by an attendee (Friendofvic) at the Orlando, Florida Photoshop World back in March. It's really fun, it's really embarrassing, it's really short (just one minute and 2 seconds) and it's just very fun seeing someone else's take on things. Hope you enjoy it (and I hope we'll see you in Vegas this September).

Hi gang: As promised, here's one of the videos we played during the closing ceremonies at Photoshop World East (Orlando), showing some highlights from the conference. During this video, you'll also see some behind-the-scenes video clips from Richard Harrington's "Music Video" live shoot which he staged for his "How to Shoot and Edit Video from your DSLR" workshop (he staged it in a nearby warehouse to get that gritty feel. Also, the music in this video is actually from the band Seven Nations, which is the band shown in the video, and they shot for the classes video project). Rich set up a Facebook page for students to upload their videos from the workshop. You can check them out right here. Also, if you're really into the DSLR video thing,  Rich just released the book, "From Still to Motion" on that very topic, and…

Hi gang: Here are links to the some of the reviews you guys posted yesterday. Thanks for sharing these with my readers, and if you have a post that's not listed here, I invite you to post the link as a comment here. :) -Scott P.S. Photo above, by Thomas Quinn, was taken during the live shoot part of the How to Shoot Concerts Pre-conference workshop and was one of the finalist in the contest to win the Nikon D300s and lens, and was featured during the opening keynote. If I heard it once last week, I heard it a hundred times; "This was the best Photoshop World ever!" I think I'd have to agree. It started from the opening keynote, when I looked out and saw the standing-room only crowd on their feet, cheering, holding cameras over their heads and taking photos with everything from DSLRs to iPhones (yup---that's me center stage below. Don't ask). It ended with that same crowd giving a standing ovation to the instructors during the closing ceremonies. It was truly an amazing week from beginning to end. I could go on and on about every little detail (and write 8 or 9 thousands words about it), but I'm going to try to just give you some highlights, and a peek into what it was like to be a part of this very special event.
