Lots of stuff going on this Photoshop World week; here’s what’s up:

ele8Adobe releases Photoshop Elements 8
The latest version of Photoshop Elements has just been released (Elements in the consumer version of Adobe Photoshop), and our buddy Terry White has a write-up on all the new features on his Tech Blog. Here’s the link. NOTE: Matt and I have already completed writing and updating our Photoshop Elements 8 Book for Digital Photographers, and it’s at the publisher’s now, so it should be in bookstores next month. :)

My Tutorial on my EDP Technique is Now on the NAPP Member Site
If you’re a NAPP member, make sure you check out my new tutorial for NAPP members on how I did the post-processing on those Army Blackhawk shots I posted here a few weeks back (here’s the link). They were processed using a single image processing technique I call “EDP” (Expanded Definition Processing), and the tutorial shows exactly how I did it. It’s on the NAPP members Web site.

We’ve updated the NAPP Public Site (plus check out my new video)
We just launched a new version of NAPP’s Public Website, and I did a short video there that explains exactly what NAPP is, what the benefits to membership are, and all that sort of stuff, so if you’ve got a minute, stop by and check it out here.

Upcoming Collaging Workshop from Sean Duggan
Sean has an interesting 4-day workshop called Creative Collage with Photoshop coming up November 5 – 8, at the Mesilla Digital Imaging Workshops in southern New Mexico (very close to the amazing White Sands national Monument). The cost for the four-day workshop is $580, and you can find out more by clicking here.

There’s Still Time….
If you’re thinking of coming to Photoshop World in Vegas (it officially starts Thursday morning with the opening Keynote presentation), it’s not too late. Each year we always have people who just show up at the door to buy their conference pass the morning of the keynote, so if you didn’t pre-register, you can still attend and do your registration onsite. Here’s where to find out all the details. Of course, either way; you’re invited to visit the Expo Floor on Friday and Saturday for Free (just go to the Photoshop World Web site and click on the Free Expo Pass link).

Tomorrow’s Special Guest Blogger is……
….a very talented Hollywood photographer, teacher, and one of the nicest, most genuine guys you’d ever want to meet…my buddy Mike Kubeisy.

Mike is the show photographer for a number of big major network hit TV shows, and has been working in Hollywood almost his entire career (which says something of his work, and his ability to work with some very demanding clients), and I’m really looking forward to what he has to share. Make sure you catch Mike’s Special Guest Blog spot here tomorrow, as we kick off the Photoshop World Pre-Conference Sessions out in Vegas.

Have a great Tuesday everybody
…and I’ll see you back here for some Photo Blogging from Photoshop World in Fabulous Las Vegas, baby—yeah!!!! :)

It’s Photoshop World week (Whoo Hoo!), and this time I’ve decided to try something different here on the blog for my Photoshop World coverage: I’m going to take iPhone photos each day with my iPhone, and post them directly here using an iPhone App.

That way, I can give you a feel for what’s going on at the show (including some behind the scenes stuff), without missing any days of blogging (which usually happens around Photoshop World because of my crazy schedule).

We’ll see how it goes, but I’ll be doing my first test posts tomorrow, so make sure you check back all week long (including a special day of blogging on Saturday, the final day of the conference).

Also, make sure you keep an eye on the official Photoshop World blog (link), which features four special Photoshop World Guest Bloggers live from the show, and our Twitter coverage courtesy of our own Social Media Ninja, Nancy Masse. If you’re into Social Media—-this will be a fun Photoshop World for you! (We’re having a “Tweet Up” at the House of Blues, too!—-I’ll be there along with the rest of the NAPP crew).

And of course, it wouldn’t be Photoshop World without Matt and I grabbing a bunch of friends after Midnight Madness and heading to In & Out Burger for our semi-annual “Meet Matt at Midnight” get together and late night cholesterol fest at our favorite burger joint and fry provider. Then we head back to Mandalay Bay for another contribution to their Craps tables cash drawer replenishment program. Hope to see you there! (Pay the line!). ;-)

If you’re coming out to Photoshop World Las Vegas this week, I’m doing two live demos on the Expo floor that you’re invited to check out. NOTE: Both of these are on the Expo floor, and both are during the two days we allow the public onto the show floor, so to get your free Expo Only ticket, click here.

Here are the details:

Elinchrom BXRI’s Live Studio Shoot (at the Bogen Imaging Booth)
2:15 – 3:00 pm, Friday, Oct. 2nd
I’ll be showing how I use Elinchrom’s inexpensive BXRI strobes in the studio, by doing a live shoot on the floor, showing a few of my favorite lighting set-ups, and how the whole thing comes together.

Westcott Spiderlite Live Shoot at B&H Photo Theater
11:00 am, Saturday, Oct. 3rd
You guys have heard me talk a lot about the Westcott Spiderlite daylight fluorescent kits, and here you’ll see exactly how I use them, why I use them, and when. This is a live shoot, and I’ll be doing this from B&H Photo’s Live Theater on the Show Floor (B&H Photo usually has special show pricing on the “Scott Kelby TD-5 Studio Kit”).

I hope I’ll see you at one of these free demos. :)
