OK, we’re back with another — this time it’s three little features/options/shortcuts/whatever for the Move tool and they are actually pretty darn handy (One I use multiple times every single day — don’t know what I’d do with out it). Check ’em out below (it’s a really quick video):

Hope you found that helpful.

Tomorrow, my guest blogger is none other than Amsterdam-based Fashion Photographer, Book Author, and Educator, Frank Doorhof
I love Frank, and have learned a lot from him — make sure you check out this post tomorrow (PLUS: if you live in Santa Cruz, he’s doing a one-day workshop there that will blow your mind. What an opportunity! Here’s the details).

Have a great Tuesday everybody, and we’ll see you here tomorrow for Frank’s Guest Post. :)

Hi folks – sorry I missed posting on Friday – I was out in San Diego for my seminar, and by the time I got back from a dinner/meeting and the seminar and all, I was too whipped to write so I called in “lame.” However, I’m tan, rested, and ready (well, ready anyway), so here is #2 in my series.

This one (below) is a feature Adobe snuck past a lot of folks — they didn’t make much noise about it at all, but it creates a lot of the cross-processed and film looks that are all the rage these days. Check out the video – it’s actually pretty cool, and gets you those looks without having to buy a plug-in.

Hope you found that helpful.

Quick shout out to the photographers in San Diego
Many thanks to all the folks who came out to my seminar there – had a great time meeting everybody and just love any chance I get to be out there. What a great city! My next seminars are in Orlando, Florida and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida next month.

Hope you all have a great Monday, and I’ll be back tomorrow with #3 in our series. :)

Best,

-Scott

Howdy, folks. Ready for a fun coupla weeks? Good – me, too!

Today I’m launching a new 10-part series called “10 Things You Didn’t Realize (or forgot) Were in Photoshop” and we’re kicking it off today with #1: a short video on a little known, yet no less awesome tool called “The Color Replacement Tool.” (BTW: if you just said to yourself, “The Color Replacement Tool!? What the heck is that?” well, you’re going to feel right at home in this new series).  Here we go!

Happy Friday, everybody! I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to write about today, until I saw this tweet yesterday, and then I knew I had to do a short video (below), which is part studio technique and part retouching in Photoshop (the Photoshop part is really simple. Heck, the studio technique is really simple. It’s all simple — you just have to remember to do it during the shoot or you may not have much of a prayer afterward.

Don’t worry — if you’re not a KelbyOne member, you can take the 10-day Free Trial and join us tomorrow live for this groundbreaking Webcast. Kristi is awesome (KelbyOne members LOVE her current class on high-end skin retouching), and she’s here taping some new online classes. Tomorrow, I’m excited to be joining her as we talk about the “Unspoken Rules of Retouching” and I think you’ll find this really helpful.

This isn’t one big tutorial — this is a discussion where we talk about the stuff we don’t get to talk about during a tutorial. Of course, we’re taking your questions live, and looking at some real world retouching scenarios and we can’t wait to share all of this with you tomorrow. Here’s the details:

Who: Kristina Sherk and yours truly
What: Live Webcast on the “Unspoken Rules of Retouching” and the state of the retouching industry
Where: http://kelbyone.com/webcast
When: 1:00 pm EDT
Why: We love giving our members a creative advantage

Hope you can join us tomorrow (if you can’t be there for the Live Webcast, we’ll rebroadcast it in its entirety exclusively for KelbyOne members).

Look forward to seeing you then!

Best,

-Scott

It’s actually two little things to do; the first one is a no-brainer, the second one (the main one) you’d kinda have to know the secret handshake to make it work, but chances are it’s going to fix whatever is messing with your copy of Photoshop or Lightroom, and get you back up and running right.

It’s short, sweet, and to the point. Hope you find it helpful.

Hope I get to meet you at my seminar here today in Seattle, or on Friday in Portland.

Have an great Tuesday everybody. :)

Best,

-Scott
