Photoshop World Wrap-Up Video

Hi gang: As promised, here’s one of the videos we played during the closing ceremonies at Photoshop World East (Orlando), showing some highlights from the conference.

During this video, you’ll also see some behind-the-scenes video clips from Richard Harrington’s “Music Video” live shoot which he staged for his “How to Shoot and Edit Video from your DSLR” workshop (he staged it in a nearby warehouse to get that gritty feel. Also, the music in this video is actually from the band Seven Nations, which is the band shown in the video, and they shot for the classes video project).

Rich set up a Facebook page for students to upload their videos from the workshop. You can check them out right here. Also, if you’re really into the DSLR video thing,  Rich just released the book, “From Still to Motion” on that very topic, and you can download a sample right here.

By the way: William Beem posted a review of the “How to shoot a concert” workshop, along with some great photos he took during the workshop (but you’ve got to read his review—this guy’s a great photographer, but he’s also a great writer, too!). Here’s the link.

  1. Great video Scott, and great music on the video aswell!
What was the name of the band?
Pitty that i live in Belgium and that all the photoshopgoodies are in the US.
Big fan from your crew for years, and years to come, keep it rocking.

  2. Scott, the workshop was a blast.

The band is Seven Nations… they’re very talented and great sports

Several of the shots you see were by attendees.

We’re still in the editing stage, but I’ll be sure to let you know when attendee videos start posting.

Here’s hoping we try it again in Vegas… it was a blast

    1. Looking forward to reading your new book. I’ve been waiting for a book like that on the DSLR video topic. I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

      Best,
      Mo

      1. Thanks Mo…. We worked harder on it than any other and I had 3 great authors join me. I hope it meets your needs and be sure to use the video files as you read for a complete experience.

  3. Hey everyone,

Just so you know, the song on this video is called “My Favorite Photograph” (fitting, no?) It’s on the album “Time as the Enemy” by Seven Nations and is available at iTunes and Amazon. =)

As a huge fan of Seven Nations I was sooo excited to see them at Photoshop World!

  4. Wow! I attended my first PSW and have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life! Thanks’ so much Scott for having this vision and creating the best conference ever!
I was there for the closing ceremonies in person and while watching the video was instantly whisked back to last week… Leaves me smiling, wired and inspired once again just from watching it! Anxiously awaiting my next PSW fix! Love the music… and it was great to once again visit one of the best weeks of my life!

Thank you to all the wonderful staff and people at Kelby World who help make this happen!

  5. Geez talk about mixed emotions watching that video!!! Looks like you had an absolutely incredible time but man do I wish I could have been there with you all; it really does look like the best ever.

Saw so many faces of friends I’ve made through NAPP, here on the blog, Twitter, Facebook and so on, and seeing them all was quite something so thanks for posting that Scott.

Thousands of people, all having fun, learning and amongst friends for life…now that’s something real special and that’s what you and your team have made possible, so take a huge pat on the back cos you so deserve it.

    All the best to you,
    Glyn
