Judging

One winner will be chosen and announced on Scott Kelby’s blog on Monday, August 24th. Judging will be completed by professional sports photographer Mike Olivella

Dream Assignment Prize

An all-expense paid trip to shoot from the sidelines of the Florida State Seminoles vs. the Jacksonville State Gamecocks college football game on Saturday, September 12th!

You’ll fly into Tallahassee on Friday, September 11th where you’ll start your dream assignment by having dinner with Scott and Mike. Chances are it will be a big fat steak dinner where you’ll talk sports photography to your heart’s content.

On Saturday, at least three hours before the game starts, you’ll get picked up and transported to FSU’s Doak Campbell Stadium where you’ll shoot the team’s warm up on the field at the 50-yard line right next to FSU Seminole coach Bobby Bowden .

You’ll enjoy a pre-game meal (full blown buffet) at the stadium in the press box that overlooks the field where you can mingle with other media folks, photographers and FSU personnel. We’re told the view from the press box is really “sporty.”

Then on game day, Sept. 12, the winner will accompany Scott and Mike down to the sidelines to shoot from the same vantage point as the pros, in one of the most exciting and energy-charged stadiums in the country.

Plus, the winner will get even closer to the action, because we’ve rented them “pro glass;” a 400mm f/2.8 lens from LensPro To Go .

Post game – a ride back to the hotel and your trip home.

Restrictions:

Sorry folks. This contest is only open to amateur photographers. If you make your living full-time as a professional photographer, this is not the contest for you. The whole idea here is to give an amateur photographer the experience of a lifetime and let them do something they may normally never get the chance to do.

Extra Details:

You’ll need to agree to some rules before you join the Flickr Group, but here are some more details to cover just one more time.

  • This contest is NOT open to professional full-time photographers
  • Your ONE photo upload to this group serves as your one and only entry.
  • Just like in professional sports, there are NO do-overs!
  • Just as there is no crying in Baseball, there is no whining in this contest.
  • Your photo entry can be of ANY sport (not just American Football)

Last but not least…
PLEASE enter this contest only if you will actually be able to make the last-minute plans necessary to BE in Tallahassee, FL on Friday, September 11 to be ready to shoot the game September 12th. Part of the whole “dream assignment”; means you have to be ready to go at a moments notice.
