My Teaching Schedule This Week

photoplus

Hi Gang: On Wednesday I’ll be heading up to New York City for something I really look forward to each year — Photo Plus Expo. It’s a huge photography expo and conference, and I love seeing all the new stuff from vendors, and seeing all my industry friends, and heck, I just love New York, so it’s all good.

Here’s my teaching schedule for the week:

Thursday:
8:00 am: “Light it, Shoot it, Retouch it”
This is a two-hour session in their Master Class conference track for photographers who want to learn studio lighting from scratch; how to work with their subjects during a live shoot; and how to retouch the final images, from beginning to end. Registration required. Details here.

12:00 pm: Book Signing at Peachpit Press booth #1253
My brand new book, “The Best of the ‘Digital Photography Book’ Series” is now shipping, and I’ll be at the Peachpit Press booth doing a book signing of it (and any other book), and I hope you’ll stop by (I’m happy to sign any books you already have, or if you pick up one there at the show). Either way, come on by and say hi.

1:30 to 2:15pm: Travel Photography Class at the Canon Booth
I’ll be on the main stage at the Canon booth (Booth # 121, but it’s the first giant booth when you walk in the door), doing a talk on how to take travel photos like a pro and I’ll be sharing all sorts of tips — everything from camera settings, accessories to take (and which to leave behind), plus lots of stuff on what to shoot, when, and how. It’s free if you have an Expo pass, so come on by.

Friday
11:00 am: Book Signing at Rocky Nook booth #279
The fine folks at Rocky Nook published my new “How do I do that in Lightroom?” book, and I’ll be at their booth signing books, hanging out, making the scene, etc., so I hope you’ll come by and say howdy on Friday.

Saturday
I’ll be on the sidelines down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama shooting for the Vols in their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide – really looking forward to it (and seeing Big Daddy Don Page and the Vols crew).

Sunday
The Bucs are on the road playing the Redskins up at Fed Ex field, so I’ll be back at home watching the game on TV. I think after all this, I could probably use a day off. LOL!

Hope I’ll get to meet some of you in New York (or Alabama – hey, ya never know), later this week. :)

Best,

-Scott

P.S. If you haven’t heard Adobe’s announcement about Lightroom’s Import Workflow, and what they’re going to do about it, it’s pretty awesome. Here’s the link to it.
