How Photographers Can Turn Their DSLR Videos Clips Into Movies in Just 5 Minutes (using, believe it not, just Photoshop)

This is a short clip from an episode of “The Grid” (hosted by RC and me) that has gotten a ton of buzz, mostly because so many Photoshop users had no idea that Photoshop could even do this (I think it’s the best-kept secret in Photoshop).

We start a five minute timer, and even with me messing up the first step and literally having to close and restart Photoshop and start over, we still comfortably got all seven steps completed in five minutes. You’ll be stunned at how easy this is, because we’re using a photography application that lets us create video, instead of making us photographers learn a video application from scratch. You’ll super-dig it.

Here’s wishing you a better than average Monday!

Best,

-Scott

    1. Hey,
Here is a free photoshop plugin which would be very useful for designers.

You can try this free plugin which will gets all the open source image from sites like unsplash, etc,.
Just a single click on the image is enough!!! That image will be opened on a new layer in the current document.

      Download it here for free:

      Hope that helps!

  1. Yes! I’ve been using this for company demo videos of equipment and for personal time lapse shoots of the night sky. Couldn’t be more happy with the simplicity. I really want to thank RC for his how-to on this subject over on KelbyOne that revealed some super helpful insights to clip timing and how to keep things interesting overall.

  2. mmm….i tried File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack….get “Error 48: File or folder does not exist” (see attached screen shot)…using a Late 2013 MBPro Retina (OSX 10.9.4) with Photoshop CS5…

  3. This is so timely. I just got back from vacation with 3 short videos from a wedding that I wanted to combine. iMovie just frustrates me. But I was easily able to follow this tutorial, plus with a little playing around I was able to create an outro and have it display over the ending fade. I still have some questions, but this will work so much better for me. Thank you so much!

  4. Sorry for the basic question, when was this introduced into Photoshop? I
have CS5 Extended and can only access the Animation window so I’m
assuming this is not possible for me to use for video.

  5. 7 steps on editing video in photoshop is great one question it limits upto 500 frames can we override and go higher for a longer production thanks
