Live Action Horse Racing Photography with Dave Black
In the latest addition to KelbyTraining.com, Live Action Horse Racing Photography, join Dave Black on location at Tampa Downs and learn how to photograph horse racing from one of the top sports photographers in the world. Dave gets up early to document everything that happens in the course of a day at a working racetrack, while sharing tips and tricks he's learned over a career that spans 30 years. You'll learn about all the gear he uses, how to set up a remote camera, the importance of choosing the background in each of your shots, why you should focus on the small details as much as the wider panorama to help tell the story, and so much more!

  1. But if we listened to Zach Arias we wouldn’t have money for his book! because we are all driving crappy cars living in little apartments! Awesome guy would love the signed Book!

  2. Yesterday I was lucky enough to get my first freebie by grabbing a free rental of the amazing Dave Black. Let’s see if I can grab the copy of Zack Arias and be the perfect week!!

  3. Would love to rent the Dave Black class. I plan on doing some horse racing photography this summer. I love Scott’s horse racing photo in his portfolio.

  4. Zack, Frank and the instructors on Kelby Training are an inspiration to aspiring photographers like me. The more I immerse myself in the material, the more it becomes second nature when I’m out there shooting. It’s world class instruction.

  5. Please: One Light, Two Light with Joe McNally (Virginia Beach or Charlotte). Or I’m always in need of a free book or DVD. Thanks guys, you rock!

  6. Tom Buiocchi

    CEO Drobo

    Tom:

First of all, I’m not happy writing this Mail.

My Drobo is a brick (as Scott Kelby wrote in his blog).

I’ve been having trouble with my Drobo unit, it disconnect or shoot downs itself and

reboots by its own, but last time the only thing it does is to flash all the lights on and

off, or as Scott wrote ” my drobo cycling on/off over and over again. It doesn’t mount, and I can’t access my photos”.

The tech support guy tells me that my Drobo should be replaced but because my warranty

already expired I have to pay $ 265.00 USD for an additional year’s warranty.

    I do not agree, because:

    1. It is very expensive (its around half the price I paid for my Drobo)

    2. Because no body assures me that after a year my Drobo won’t fail again

    3. And if it fails again ¿should I paid $265.00 USD again?

    4. Because I don’t have to pay that much for something that was meant to be a more

    reliable machine

    5. And I wrote that because I used my Drobo just for back up, and not for a

every day use and even with that little amount of usage it happen to fail.

    6. I use my Mac Book Pro N times more than the Drobo and don’t bend over that amount

of work, and the extended Protection Plan is cheaper compared to Drobo

    7. And when a trouble appear in their machines and repeats over and over again they

recognise it and make a “recall” to solve the problem with no charge for their customers

    6. Because my files are way more valuable than the Drobo they are in and

they deserve to be kept in a more trustable unit

    7. Because I don’t trust Drobo any more

Maybe it would be to hard to admit it, but ¿Does the type of failure of Scott’s and my Drobo

    deserves a “recall”?

I need you to help me get my files out off the Drobo.

Tom, I’ll be posting this in Scott Kelby’s blog because:

1.I bought my Drobo in the first place because I knew about it in Scott’s blog

and I was convinced that it was the right back up system for me (at that time)

    2. I’m the only one responsible for buying it

    3. But I feel morally responsible for letting other blog readers what is happening to

    my Drobo

    4. So every body BACK UP your Drobos

    5. And because I don’t have a blog, and I don’t have the followers Scott has, so I feel

that if I don’t post it here I might not have the right support from your company.

    Thanks a lot

PD. Scott I hope you don’t bother because I posted this message in your blog, and I expect with the reasons I wrote for doing it.

  7. I”M SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY THAT JOE MCNALLY IS COMING TO CHARLOTTE OH MY GOSH THIS NEVER HAPPENS!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, I really wish that more of your workshops would come to Charlotte, the next closest city that ever gets booked is Atlanta and that’s really too far away for a lot of people; Charlotte is a pretty big city that gets often overlooked. Would love to see Kelby Media visit more often :D
