Friday News Stuff From the Photoshop Insider

trkuve

Hi everybody. It’s Friday, and here’s what’s up:

  • Apple, I’m Begging You!
I don’t usually ask Apple for, well…anything, but today I’m begging; please, please, I implore you, give us an option to turn Gestures off on the new MacBook Pro laptops. Besides Photoshop CS4 rotating my canvas and zooming in/out all day, now I’m using Adobe InDesign CS4 as well, and now my text blocks rotate when I least expect it. Of course, it’s not just Adobe products (or I’d be pleading to Adobe here instead). My font sizes change in Safari and Email a dozen times a day. It is driving me crazy!!!! OK, that’s it—-just had to get it off my chest. I’m OK now.
  • My New Tour Dates, and Our New Tour Site
We launched a totally redesigned (and vastly improved) version of our live one-day Photoshop seminars site (now called “Kelby Training Live”-–one of the site’s headers is shown above), and we’ve got the new dates up there for not only my Lightroom 2 Live Tour (Denver on Wed. May 20th, and Portland, Oregon on Friday, May 22nd), but also my new “Photoshop CS4 Down & Dirty Tricks Tour,” which kicks off in Washington DC on Friday, May 8th. Here’s a link to check out the new site, and the upcoming dates for all our tours (including Bert Monroy’s Creativity Tour, Ben Willmore’s Photoshop for Photographers Tour, Joe McNally’s new Off Camera Flash Tour, and Dave Cross’ Maximum Photoshop Tour).
  • My Original “Photoshop Insider Blog” Site is Still Online
I started this blog over at Blogger.com back in 2005, and I was searching for something the other day, and realized that the old site is still online, so if you’ve got a minute, go take a quick look at the “old blog.” There’s still some decent info over there (along with stuff that’s totally outdated). Here’s the link to my original Photoshop Insider blog.
  • Versace’s “Finish the Sentenence”
One of my favorite things on my buddy Dave Cross’ site is his “Finish The Sentence” feature, and last week he had Vincent “Vinny, V-man, Vin-man” Versace,” finishing the sentences.  Here’s the link to “Vs” thing. (Also, while you’re there; check out Mike Fulton’s Finish the Sentence this week. Very well done).

Well, that’s all I got. That’s it. I’m tapped out. Have a great weekend everybody, and if you use Photoshop CS4, don’t forget to scroll down and take this week’s CS4 Tool/Feature survey.
