A few months back, my buddy (and recent Guest Blog hero) Glyn Dewis invited me to do an interview for his blog, and I was tickled that Glyn took a big departure from most of the standard interview questions, and I think the interview I did with him is perhaps the most in-depth one I’ve ever done.
It’s fun answering questions that aren’t the same “What’s your favorite plug-in” and “What’s your favorite Lens” type of questions and he delved into everything from my parents to how we started our business, to the secret of our success (and I think it is one particular thing, which I talk about in the interview) and everything in-between. I REALLY hate I have a prior commitment and can’t make DC, I would love to meet Glyn in person. I feel like I know him I’ve talked with him so much on twitter. Besides the awesome training at PSW I believe the greatest part is finally meeting photogs I’ve been socializing for a long time!
Hey Ken, we plan on coming over to the US alot more following DC as Anne has never actually visited yet so we’ll definitely get some time for a beer; will be great to finally catch up.

Excellent interview that gives a better insight into Scott Kelby, the Pentax Guy. (What happened to the Pentax?) In the next edition can we get some insight into Scott, the musician, and how the sound resonates today? An area of photography that I haven’t seen you publish is photojournalism. How about showing us how those 22 kids in Kenya have been changed, and why we should help the next 22. Thanks to you and Glyn.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I think we all know Scott Kelby the public persona, but this interview gave real insight to the man, husband, father, son, brother, friend we (or at least I) loved to really learn about. I highly respected Mr. Kelby before for all his achievements, but having this insight really validates my thoughts about him as a truly inspiring human being. Thank you, Mr. Dewis for allowing us to peer into this man’s life in a very respectful and insightful way.

Good job Glyn. I think what impresses me most about Scott is that he is Genuine. What he doesn’t know is that he was a constant companion when I was laid up after a Bike crash a couple of years ago. Thanks both of you.
That was an incredibly insightful interview. Glyn did a really great job and asked some interesting questions. Nice to learn a little more about you both. I’m impressed by Scott’s commitment to his family and ensuring he is there for everything. Something so important in today’s world.
Very nice interrview, Scott. You come across very genuine in everything you write. It’s one of the reasons I think your books do so well. But it’s nice to learn your background and even get a sense of what your days are like.

Now that was a very interesting interview, good job Glyn. Really enjoyed reading this because Scott has a lot to offer. He’s an interesting person with great talent and interesting, captivating way to deliver the material! This interview felt like the Zach Arias video moment, being real! Great point was made when Scott mention about Bill Fortney. Totally right, why am I at the current level in my craft, because I’m not dedicated or willing to take the time needed to get there!
On a side note, maybe a message this week about this “time” committing stuff! Just watch Scott “secret” to composition and really hit a cord. As you demonstrate how you stick with it until you get the shot that goes, WOW! That is what I was looking for.
Scott, I have to say that was a great interview. As always, thank you for sharing with us. Got a little inspiration for the morning.
By the way, my first camera was the Pentax K1000. It sure could survive being in a backpack for weeks on end!
