The annual Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Awards (HIPA) has become one of the world’s most prestigious photography competitions, celebrating the work of photographers around the world, and bringing international attention to the art and craft of photography.
If you’ve ever thought of entering your work in a competition, this is the one you’ve been waiting for. The recognition (and prize money) alone could seriously change your life, and the competition is already underway (the deadline for submissions is October 31, 2016, so enter soon).
I talked about The HIPA Awards here on the blog (here’s the link), after traveling to Dubai last year to attend the HIPA Awards Presentation and I have to say, I was absolutely blown away at the scale and scope of the awards (akin to the Academy Awards here in the US), and now in their Sixth Season, I can’t imagine how amazing this event will be.
Here’s the link for info on this year’s theme – how to enter – and all the details.
HIPA is a first class organization and they are bringing a level of recognition and attention to our craft that is rarely seen anywhere in the world today, and I applaud their vision and heart for photography.
If you’re thinking, “I wonder if I should enter?” the answer is absolutely, positively, yes! I just cannot say enough for this organization, the people behind it, and the entire competition and what they’re trying to achieve. It’s really something special, and I truly hope you enter some of your best work today.
Good luck! :)
