First, how ’bout that post yesterday from Dustin Snipes! I love it when a photographer shares the entire process, without leaving any steps out, and that’s exactly what Dustin did, and I know he gained a lot of new fans yesterday. Way to go Dustin (and on behalf of my readers—thanks!). Now, on to the news:
- Remember last week when I featured a four-part series on what’s new in Photoshop CS4? Well the Turning Points blog did a nice follow-up post listing all the features Matt, Dave and I covered in the four videos, so if you didn’t get a chance to watch the videos to see what all is new, check out their complete listing by clicking here.
- By now you might have heard that Adobe has posted a downloadable beta release of a bug-fix for Lightroom on Adobe Labs (so, it’s the beta for Lightroom 2.3). Before you download it, I want to give you a heads-up; this is NOT the final update (which is why it’s not available automatically through the “Check for Updates” menu command under Lightroom’s Window menu). If you download this update from this link, it won’t update your current version; it will download a separate version of Lightroom (version 2.3 beta), leaving your original untouched. This isn’t a bad thing (especially with a beta, right?), but I just wanted you to know that you’ll now have two Lightroom’s on your computer. Personally I’m waiting for the final update to be released.
- This week has been an incredibly busy week over at the Kelby Training Online Studios. Adobe’s own Julieanne Kost has been here recording some special online classes, and Joe McNally has been here this week; in the studio and on location doing a new class. Photoshop World instructor Taz Tally is in Studio 2 this week working on some new classes, and on Monday we’ve got Jack Reznicki and attorney Ed Greenberg here doing two special online classes on copyright and how to protect your images; one class for photographers and one class for graphic designers. Right on their heels is Canon Explorer of Light Rick Sammon doing special online classes on how to use your Canon DSLRs, and we’ve got another incredible retouching class from David Cuerdon coming right behind that. Lastly, I’m finishing up a new online class on Photoshop CS4’s Camera Raw. Just wanted to keep you all in the loop on all the cool stuff coming your way!
That’s it for today folks. See ya back here tomorrow for our Friday wrap-up. Have a great Thursday!
