  21. Flash is my biggest weakness, I hardly ever use it except when I’m in bright sunlight or when there is absolutely no choice. I’ve hand-held shots at 1/6 of a second (successfully) to avoid flash. I know a lot about how to ensure you don’t get those background shadows, or flash highlights on the skin – but I just hate using it. If you can increase my comfort with the final “look” of a flash photo, you’re a genius – and not one of those geniuses that grant you a wish when you rub the bottle … or something.

It seems my flash has a mind of its own when it comes to covering events, to the point where I’d rather shoot high ISOs with no flash at all. Let me tell you why: Scotty last year I was at Hollywood Studios in Orlando and saw you and – My guess – your sons in line to go at the Toy Story attraction as I was leaving with my sons. I took a picture of you with the idea of sharing in one of your social media feeds, but the shot came out underexposed… if I only knew hiw to use my flash you wlukd be a little bit more famous than you are!
