Last night I was seeing tons of great comments posted on Google+ and on Twitter from people who attended the conference, and I thought I'd share a few with you here, as it really gives you a feel for the amazing vibe of the conference and how it affected the attendees. "The G+ Photographer's Conference was a HUGE success!! Truly like a festival of great ideas, inspiration, warmth and good will." "I can't really describe how much fun I had at the +Google+ Photographer's Conference this week. I met so many amazing people and learned SO much about G+ and how I can use it better. It was kind of sad when I deleted the conference app off my phone earlier tonight... But I'll be back next year for sure." "…Before the show had even started I was having the time of my life.…

Hi Gang: The keynote will be streamed lived via YouTube.com and our plan is to embed the stream right here on the blog, LIVE today at 9:00 am Pacific Time (Noon East Coast Time US), so check back then and see if we actually got it to work! Also, you can watch from our Google+ page, so I hope you'll tune in, just 2-1/2 hours from now (well, from when this was posted anyway). See you then! :)

Hi Gang, and greetings from sunny San Francisco! We arrived yesterday afternoon,; Matt grabbed a rental car and we headed down to Monterey to shoot along the coast at Big Sur. The sunset was kind of sketchy --- for a while it looked like it might be good (as seen above), but then this fog kind of rolled in off shore (they call it "marine layer") and once the sun tucked behind it, it was not to be seen again. Still a lot of fun just shooting along the chilly, windy Garrapata State beach at Big Sur (shown above). Today is set-up day for tomorrow's launch of the "Google+ Photographers Conference" here at the Yerba Buena Center, but the conference kicks off later this afternoon with Photo Walks all over the city (I'm leading the one at Golden Gate State Park), and then we all…

Man, have I picked up some Frequent Flyer miles in the past few weeks. As I write this, I'm on my delayed flight back from Norfolk, Virginia after speaking the ISAP aviation photographers' conference (had a great time. Their association is so fantastic, I actually signed-up myself while I was there, and now I am a proud ISAP member). A big thanks to Nikon for having me there in the first place, and to Larry Grace and all the great folks at ISAP. So, after back-to-back London and Paris trips (hey, I'm not complaining) I'm off this weekend to San Francisco as we kick off the first ever, "Google+ Photographer's Conference." We're going to have a packed house out there, and we're getting there early to get everything set-up, coordinated, decorated and ready to rock. I am SO excited about this has come together…

The shot above was taken inside the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. I had never been, and was really taken with the fact that it's all stained glass (and tells a story, reading from left to right, bottom to top in each pane of the stained glass). While it's looks really large here, I'll bet it's not 100 feet deep from end to end (but the ceilings are really high). NOTE: make sure you click on these to see a much larger version. Above: Here's the view if you turned 180° around from where I took the other shot. Again, the same amazing stained glass, and shot hand-held (it wasn't as bright as it looks here --- I had to brighten it up a bit in post).  Above: Here's a different church --- this one is the St-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, and we filmed a small part…

    ISAP1a

Because of my own tour schedule, and our events like Photoshop World and the Google+ Conference for Photographers, I don't often get a chance to speak at other conferences, but when I was asked to speak again at the International Society of Aviation Photography (ISAP) Conference on behalf of Nikon, I jumped at the chance. This will be the third time I've presented at the ISAP Conference, and I have to say of all the conferences out there, this is without a doubt one of the best-run, most-fun, and incredibly value-packed conferences I've ever been a part of. The incredible training, and unbelievable shooting access they're able to arrange for their attendees still amazes me to this day. I'm speaking on Thursday, but I'm sticking around for their class location shoot on Friday (and catching a night flight home), but if you're going to be…
