Hi Guys: The very awesome and cool Brad Moore sent me this mondo epic video (ABOVE) from David Bergman, Bon Jovi’s tour photographer on their current tour (My son and I are big Bon Jovi fans, and we caught their tour earlier this year, and met up with Dave before the show. Here’s the link to Dave’s Guest Post on my blog from earlier this year).
Anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy the video. Many thanks, and hat’s off to cool, awesome, and awesomely cool Dave Bergman for this epic, mondo cool video (sorry, all the cool’s and awesomes are a cool awesome hangover from Brad’s Pimpy Post yesterday. Brad’s cool like that).
You can get all the details on David’s blog and over at Fstoppers.com, the guys who produced the video.
Scott,
Like all of your posts, this one is awesomely cool your awesomnes!
Mike
Thanks for that :)
Credits should go to the FStoppers guys too, especially Patrick Hall who made this video. ;)
Just added links to the posts on David’s blog and the Fstoppers blog!
Hi Scott,
Is Jon Bon Jovi now the lead singer of “Big Jovi”? :-) Cool name by the way! Maybe you could play at the next NAPP-conference!
“Big Jovi” has now been corrected :) Thanks for the heads up!
That looks like a pretty fun gig! ;-)
Scott,
This is kick-butt for sure. I sent it to the promoter that I shoot for (crap he will expect more now). Does anyone know what the white box on front of Bergman’s 70-200 is?
Ken
Ken, that white box is a gopro hd camera. We used it to film video of what David’s camera saw while he was shooting. The only footage I wound up using was the BW shots of the band rehearsing you can see when Dave is talking about access.
I had the same question about the box, so I went to his site to find out.
From David’s blog:
“…it was a GoPro HD video cam. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get Lee and Patrick in the band’s dressing room, so I taped that on to get some video footage. Turns out I got them in, so we didn’t use much from that cam – only a clip or two.”
Awsome video, and I second Ken`s question.
That IS cool! I’m a Bon Jovi fan, too!
Awesome video. It takes a lot to make me say wow with photography these days, but some of his work was just fantastic. David, great stuff man. Thanks for sharing the video with us. Same goes out to Fstoppers.
Great video. Thanks for giving us a view from the inside.
Thank you for showing us the work of one of the luckiest people alive!
Thanks for posting this! I’m a huge Bon Jovi fan (since the 80’s!) and have seen them in concert 4 times. Love the behind the scenes look.
Thanks for sharing this. It was so great to see the behind the scenes and David’s photos are awesome.
Very cool video..
Simply brilliant. Awesome work by David, great job from the guys over at Fstoppers. Thanks for sharing this!
That has to be THE coolest video I’ve seen in a long time!!! Absolutely AWESOME stuff!!!!
What else is there to say ???
Thanks so much for posting this Scott/Brad,
Great job!
Amazing shots (and video which makes me feel like I was there)!
Thanks for sharing.
Awesomely cool stuff! Been a huge fan of Bon Jovi forever, seen them in Calgary back in July. Bought tickets back in December before I started chemo as I was determined to be finished treatment by their concert…and I was. So cool to see what goes on behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant video and photos – especially the Sports Illustrated ones! It was good to put a face to David’s name
And no sign of any big ego too which was great, he was honest and informative!
Boy that would be such a exciting job!! What fun!
Really enjoyed it. Nice guy in an envious position, drawing raves from the star himself.
Scott and Brad, I appreciate you posting the video and for the kind words! It’s always an honor to be mentioned on your site. It was great seeing you at the concert earlier this year.
Huge thanks to Patrick and Lee from Fstoppers.com for doing such an amazing job.
David,
I attended that Bon Jovi concert at the New Meadowlands Stadium which was featured in the video. I went with my Nikon D5000 with a 70-300 on it. Here is the link to a few of those images. http://brandtsteinhauser.wordpress.com/2010/07/12/who-says-you-cant-come-home/
But what intrigued me the most was the camera you had mounted on the stage. I remember seeing it in on of my photos and wandering what the images from that camera looked like. Thanks to this video, now I know!
Thanks for the inspiration. Thanks to Scott and Brad for sharing this with also.
this post made my day…I’ve been a fan of Bon Jovi since the 80’s and David, you have the best job ever!!
Hey Brad,
great video, really like it. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome vid with some fantastic work from David!
Amazing work. Thanks!
Hey man that’s awesome! Nice work David!
I dig what David says about shooting the same event and to challenge yourself to dream up different views . That’s the heart of event photography. David you do amazing work dude.
Love the idea of shooting the same event over again to try and find better shots the second time around- great photographer doing what he loves. Grant
Ace video – always so cool to see ‘behind the scenes’ work on photo shoots. Thanks for sharing Brad/Scott and great work David.
