Catch my Photo Tips plus 3 key tips for getting great light from your Softbox On TWiT Photo

Hi Gang: Last week I was a guest on Leo Laport’s new Netcast, “TWiT Photo,” (with co-host Catherine Hall) and during the show we covered lots of photo tips, and I even got to do a live segment with three tips on using softboxes, and since it aired I’ve gotten lots of wonderful feedback.

Here’s the link to watch the show. Many thanks to Leo and Catherine for having me on the show. They were incredibly gracious hosts (and Catherine is a wonderful photographer) and besides getting to cover a lot of tips in a short time, I really had a lot of fun being on the show. Check it out if you’ve got a few minutes.

  1. Hey Scott,
I was wondering when you would have a post. I figured Father’s Day had you wore out. Oh well, I’m wrong more than I’m right. I hope you had a good one. Thanks a TON for the amazing special you had this weekend. I can’t wait to see the results of the mural.
    See ya in September,
    Mike

  2. Scott:

Hope you had a great Father’s Day. I know I did!

I did wind up catching your Twit Photo appearance last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having Nellie there as your model for some impromptu shooting (well, I suppose it was planned) reminded me how great your Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It seminar was in Boston. Leo and Catherine were great hosts to the show. Guess I have another web broadcast to watch!

Oh, and thanks for the book recommendation on the show! That got a lot of laughs at my house, and I now have the audio version of it. :D

  3. Hi Scott,

I watched most of the video and I was wondering (and I know this is a stupid question) but were you actually there in the studio with Leo and Catherine or had you skyped (or similar) into them. Apart from the obvious difference in video quality It was pretty seamless otherwise.

  4. Scott,
I enjoyed the viedo. I often see videos online but mostly I give up watch it to the end. But when you are talking in any video, I can’t help watching it. I’ve always learnt something from you.
    thank you, take care.

  5. I Love Leo!! I learned so much from him in his call for help days on tech tv. What id give to meet him. Gotta be a good person to know if you ever have a computer problem. :-)

  6. I did see it on iTunes when it showed up. I loved Leo’s surprise (and genuine envy) at your setup. You really brought it to a higher level with the remote skype, the studio, the model and the Samuel Jackson book (which I have since downloaded for free at Audible.com).
    Great Work, as usual!

  7. Really good time on TWiT Photo. Tons of great info while being fun and spontaneous. Great show and thanks for your contribution as a guest!

  8. Nice Job.I thought your walk though was just the ticket. Nice to see what a soft box was and all the bits passed over by Brad Thank you.
