Hey gang, Brad here after taking a week off during Photoshop World last week :) Scott and I are on the road again this week with his brand new Light It. Shoot It. Retouch It. LIVE! Tour, and we’re having a blast with it so far! We’re doing our last stop for the week today in Chicago, in front of another sell-out crowd, and looking forward to more dates being announced soon. Anyway, on to the pimpy!
Scott will answer your questions, share some of the same techniques he uses in his own retouching workflow, and give you some tips from the new book that everyone has been clamoring for him to write.
Be sure to register now for a chance to win some prizes and sign up for a reminder in the liveblog window to the right. Then, join us on the 14th at 3pm EST. See you there!
And if you haven’t already picked it up, you can order the book from Amazon, B&N, or Kelby Training!
RC Concepcion Interviewed by The Photoletariat
Our buddy RC Concepcion was recently interviewed about his new book, Get Your Photography On The Web, his new role as co-host of DTown TV, how he got his start at Kelby Media Group, and lots of other things over at The Photoletariat.
April for Avery
The readers of this blog (i.e. you) have a reputation for being a very caring and generous group of people… Avery Henderson is a young child battling cancer who could use your help. Head over to Jay Maisel’s blog to get more info from Jamie Smith, Jay’s workshop producer, on how you can give to help Avery with her battle.
Webinars from OnOne Software
OnOne Software has a series of webinars coming up this month that you don’t want to miss! Head on over to their website to check out the full schedule.
Moose is Taking to the Skies, Again!
If you were at Photoshop World, you may have caught aviation fever from Moose Peterson during the NAPP Photo Safari or his aviation photography class. Well, you have the opportunity to take that even further! Moose’s world reknown Air2Air workshops are coming back to Florida on April 29 at Fantasy of Flight. Among the planes you’ll be in the air with are the Duck & Tri-Motor that folks photographed during the Photo Safari. But this time, you’ll be just feet away from them up in the air! You can sign up by calling Sharon at 760.924.8632 and get more info here.
New Kelby Training Online Classes
There are some great new classes up over at Kelby Training Online from Joe Glyda (Food Photography Pt. 2), Richard Riley (Photoshop Techniques for Architectural Photographers), and Bill Fortney (A Gear Guide for Outdoor Photographers)!
I think that should do it for this week. If you’re at the Chicago seminar today, be sure to come up and say hi! And if you’re not, you can still say hi here on the blog :) Have a great day!
Brad, thanks, I’m way behind on kelbytraining!
KT
You and me both on that behind on Kelby Training.
Mike
Make that three of us!
Alex
ditto. if only there were a way I could watch them on the go…like maybe an iPad app???
Still holding on to the last “weeks not months” response. Any new word yet folks?
Soon.
When is “Day with Jay Maisel Part 2” coming out, it’s been on the “courses next” list for weeks and weeks :-)
Hi,
thanks for the information.
But – if you try to read the “Terms of Use” on the webinar registration page – you receive a 404 error page.
I’m guessing you will be hosting the video somewhere for later viewing?
Air2Air workshop sound very interesting but there is now where for you to click to see what the cost is, any ideas… or is it one of those if you have to ask how much it is..
Some great links today, Brad! RC’s interview was a good read. I picked up Scott’s book at PSW and it’s made me go back to a few old photos and try out some of his techniques. I’ll probably skip the webinar, as I saw the LISIRI seminar in Boston a couple of weeks ago, so it would probably be a recap for me.
Thanks for all the Pimpy!

Scott,
Had an amazing time at your seminar in Indianapolis yesterday! Thank you for stopping in Indiana. I wish you all the best in the rest of your seminars this tour. Take care bud!
Hey! I’m sitting in your chicago class right now (of course it’s a break right now) and it has been awesome!
When will this break end so we can get back to the good stuff? :)
Huge Thanks for visiting Indy yesterday. Great stuff, hope there are more to follow!
Q. Scott mentioned something about a document with all the gear used in the seminar?
I didn’t see that at the download link given at the end of the seminar – did I miss something.
First off your Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It Seminar in Chicago was great. By the way I was the one that was wearing the Midnight Madness shirt. I learned so much and cant wait till the next seminar I attend. I was also wondering if the Blogging for Photographers class that you gave at PSW was in the workbook? I was looking and could not find it, just wanted to make sure I am not going blind.
Thanks,
The Chicago class was AWESOME! Not only was the seminar extremely informative, I also won the Photo Suite 5.5 from On One Software!! WOO HOO!
It’s So not nice to brag….. ;)
Hey Scott,
Thanks for mentioning a the ‘April For Avery’ project – your and Jay’s generosity is very much appreciated by everyone involved!
Best,
Jamie
