Shooting The Outback Bowl. Well, kinda…

Well, I was at the Outback Bowl, and I did shoot some football, but that wasn’t my main gig.

I hope you’ll take a moment to check out my images and the full story behind how I wound up shooting at the Outback Bowl, by clicking this link.

  1. Scott, what a great post. I really enjoyed seeing and reading about the band (great football shots to).
Having a granddaughter play in the Western Michigan University band the last two years your post brought back some fond memories. Being part of the band as a freshman at WMU helped her really embrace the college atmosphere. Your post really shows all of the fun these student have being able to participate in a bowl game. The WMU band got to play at the bowl game last year and she was on during a commercial with two other band mates. I had to rewind the TV to take a iPhone shots. A proud moment for our family. Thanks Again.

    1. Hi, Mark – and thanks for the kind words. I was telling my wife last night how much fun the kids in that program are having – there is such a joy surrounding music – and all being a part of something quality – and sharing such a great experience together. It’s really a special thing and something you understand thanks to your daughter’s experience, but unless you’re around a band program like that, it’s hard to imagine what a cool thing it really is. :) Happy New Year. :)

  2. As a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, the mother of two band geeks, a Kelby One member and overall Scott Kelby fan, thank you for these fantastic photos. I was completely blown away. Wow! What a great way to start the the new year!

  3. This brought a smile to my heart. These kids prepare just as hard as any athlete. Being in a college marching band is a fraternity like no other. Talk about unbridled joy. Beautiful work, graceful stretch. Happy 2018, Scott.

  4. The joy of marching band is contagious. Now you need to explore the joys of Winter Guard this winter into the spring, Drum Corp over the summer, and the local high school band’s half-time performances in the fall.
