Monthly Archives March 2012

That’s right!!!! Lightroom 4, the official shipping version, has been released today AND for the first time in Lightroom’s history, Adobe has lowered the price from $299 down to just $149 for the full version, (and only $79 for the upgrade). Also, the European pricing has been brought in-line with US pricing (Just 109 Euros [+VAT] for the full version and 62  [+VAT] for the upgrade).

Matt Kloskowski and I are hosting a free live Q&A today, and we’ll be showing some cool Lightroom 4 stuff, and doing giveaways (including a copy of my soon-to-be-released book, “The Lightroom 4 Book for Digital Photographers” (I’ve already written the entire book, and it’s in production right now).

When: Today at 12:00 noon ET
Why: Because Lightroom 4 is here, baby!

Hope to see you there! :-)

Here’s a short video with a preview and more details on Part 4 of my “The Digital Photography Book” series.

UPDATE: Amazon is now showing it IN STOCK and Barnes & Noble has it to (it says ships in 24-hours, even though it lists the 16th as publication date, so I think its in stock). Both have the print edition on sale for $13.99 (cheap!). :)

I got my first copies at the office this week, and I am psyched!!!! Thanks to my awesome book team here at KMG, and to my wonderful publishing partners at Peachpit Press (Nancy, Ted, Scott, Sara Jane, and their top-notch crew).

A few months back, my buddy (and recent Guest Blog hero) Glyn Dewis invited me to do an interview for his blog, and I was tickled that Glyn took a big departure from most of the standard interview questions, and I think the interview I did with him is perhaps the most in-depth one I’ve ever done.

It’s fun answering questions that aren’t the same “What’s your favorite plug-in” and “What’s your favorite Lens” type of questions and he delved into everything from my parents to how we started our business, to the secret of our success (and I think it is one particular thing, which I talk about in the interview) and everything in-between. If you’ve got a few minutes, you can read it right here (or just look at the pictures). :)

My thanks to Glyn for the honor of being interviewed on his blog today, and for asking such great questions that it really made it a lot of fun.

Brad Moore here again with a quick update… I just saw this on Scott’s Google+ page and thought I’d share it here as well.

We’re giving away a FREE Wacom Intuos 5 Tablet TODAY on our live broadcast at 4:00 pm ET. I have to be honest, when I heard they were coming out with a new tablet, I was like “What could they possibly do to improve it?” But now I have to say, apparently LOTS! So digging it. See you at 4:00 pm today — hope you win! :)

Hey gang, Brad Moore here with some really exciting news…

I’m sitting at my desk yesterday, and across the hall I see Scott get up from his desk, laptop in hand, and HUGE smile on his face, to dance out his door and call out, “Gather round everyone, for I have great news!!”

As he slowly and dramatically turns the laptop around (still grinning ear to ear), we all see his photo of Ryan Malone from the Tampa Bay Lightning featured on the ZUMA Press Pictures of the Day website!

At that very moment, a flock of doves flew through the air, trumpets sounded, and a bunch of other exciting stuff happened :)

Okay, that last part may have only been in my mind, but it was definitely a moment of celebration and excitement for us as we congratulated Scott on not only getting some killer hockey photos, but having one of them featured on the ZUMA site.

For those of you who have been following Scott’s “Painful Dance” with hockey photography, you too know just how excited he really is.

Way to go Scott!!
